Setting the Standard for Immersive Cinema Sound

We collaborated with Ellis Williams Architects to prepare the main auditorium for the UK’s first Dolby Cinema screen by Odeon. Featuring one of the world’s most advanced cinema sound systems, the auditorium incorporated over 400 loudspeakers strategically positioned across 123 locations, delivering an unrivaled immersive audio experience.

Our Role in the Project

We provided expert acoustic consultancy to support the success of this pioneering project. Our key contributions included:

• 3D Acoustic Modelling: Advanced simulations to analyze room acoustics and optimize the placement of finishes for superior sound quality.
• Acoustic Finishes: Advising on materials and placement to enhance sound clarity while aligning with architectural designs.
• Noise Breakout Assessment: Evaluating the potential impact of the high-powered sound system on the adjoining boutique hotel.
• Structural Design: Developing structures to prevent noise transmission and ensure compliance with landlord specifications.
• Inspections and Testing: Conducting on-site inspections and pre-completion testing to guarantee performance and compliance with all requirements.
